THIS LAMP SOXs! "Yellow" tech of bright metal vapor lamp. Beats modern LEDs in brightness per watt?
Having efficient light bulbs is great. It saves energy which gives you lower electricity bills and lower impact on the environment. So why have we stopped using the very energy-efficient low-pressure sodium vapor lamps?
In this video, I take a closer look at this vintage technology and compare it to modern, state-of-the-art LEDs. How do they compare in luminous efficacy and color rendering index?

Power of Plasma Balls Visualized | Don't wear a ring... Jumping won't help!
Переглядів 99 тис.Місяць тому
What happens if you wear a finger ring while touching a plasma globe? What if you jump while touching the plasma globe? Why are the filaments attracted to us? Is grounding - electrical earthing - needed to attract the filaments of the plasma ball? So many questions to answer but I will give it a try in this video. Luckily, plasma balls are relatively safe sources for high-voltage experiments :)...
TRUE YELLOW LASER or not? 25+ years wait over? // Valkyrie 573 donated by Tinker Lasers
Переглядів 432 тис.2 місяці тому
Handheld, yellow lasers do not exist. That is my experience after I last year tried three that were advertised to emit some shade of yellow. None of them looked yellow to me... In this video, I give it another try. Can I fill the yellow gap between red and green with a new laser that should emit a wavelength right between the ones I have tested to be closest to yellow? Is it true yellow? How po...

YELLOW LASERS?!? Finally - after 25+ years of collecting!

Welcome to what may very well be the most informative video on yellow lasers online. Simply because there aren't many yellow lasers around - making videos about them even rarer... LED streetlights seem to produce a light that doesn’t work for pedestrians, I started having to walk in the road so I could see Partly the lumens were probably higher but the the council spaced them out more leaving shadow areas When one fails you get 100m to the next one The light is daylight which is harsh at night I am delighted with my LEDs at home and so it’s not the tech, rather the implementation But I wouldn’t have a car with Led lights. I see better with a warm glow I think probably the best LED headlight is fine but I can’t afford the car with that fitted LOL Regarding sodium streetlights. I think they worked fine. I don’t expect to see at all at night so seeing in black and yellow that is bright everywhere was good

If incandescent bulbs are always dimmed up to full brightness and dimmed back down to off, they will last almost forever. The 150 watt incandescent floods in my kitchen are 30 years old; those filaments have never once been subjected to the stress of being heated from room temperature to white hot in an instant.

I'm not sure if it is common, but my R7S 400W lightbulb exploded violently at the end of it's life. Glass protected me. The explosion was so violent, that it caused deep scratches in protective glass. I recommend observing light bulbs and change them if they are becoming darker and have filament bent.

Pudibei nr-750 recommended by nuclear technologist tested on UA-cam worth getting cheap at Amazon and worked as well as her $700 detector so get them while you can before another Fukushima happens and the price gets jacked up or they just go out of business cuz the CCP finally falls. This is a probably a reasonable fomo since radiation is cumulative whether you get a dose from fallout or use get slow doses from eating foods contaminated with low levels. 50 bucks for peace of mind seems worth it to me just make sure you have one of those smoke detectors with the radioactive americiumb to test your units functionality cuz nothing's guaranteed from China if you know what I mean.

I’m glad you took time to compare to a led flood. I really have come to hate the color of led bulbs and I no longer care about the efficiency. Also, my tests show they are overdriving these LEDs and producing so much heat to the point where they consume almost 75 watts anyway. A traditional 75w bulb puts out plenty of light so how are we actually saving anything? Just give me my old 10 cent incandescent light bulbs back!!!

flash is intrinsically unreliable, so there's pretty robust error correction built in to make them reliable, bch & rs codes and whitening and a bunch of other stuff. you can get flash that will let you read raw sectors and the ecc data. there are eeproms you could read and write the whole time they're exposed, and some pseudo-static ram, they'd all be susceptible
